Slaight's Kar Korner, Inc., 2061 North Main St. in Canton was established September 8th, 1975. Slaight's is owned and operated by Steven Slaight and his wife Linda. Slaight's has maintained their high standards, high quality, and low prices throughout our over 30 years in business. A professional customer auto service and repair facility is not normally found at most used car dealerships, but it has been an integral part of our business.
Slaight's Fast License and Title Service was established in 1977. There was a tremendous need for a professional and friendly licensing service in Canton. This service continues today for individuals in our area. Licensing items are hand carried to the Secretary of State Offices and back. We have served thousands of customers over the years.
In April of 1991 Slaight's added Yamaha Powersports products to our business lineup. It was an overwhelmingly accepted business in addition with parts and service departments. Polaris products and services came next in 1997. It was a welcomed addition to the already established Polaris owners that existed in Central Illinois and almost doubled our powersports business. Our Yamaha and Polaris business stretches out over a 100 mile radius of Canton. We have five star certified technicians on staff to handle any type of repair. We are the largest dealer in Central Illinois with over 200 units in stock.
In 1998 came the addition of a public storage facility better known as Slaight's Secure Storage. Secure is the keyword in the name of this business. A waiting list seems to be the norm for our 46 multi sized unit storage facility.
Cub Cadet and Troy Bilt products is our latest addition here in 2007. Fulton County and Cub Cadet have been synonymous since International Harvester introduced it in 1961. MTD Industries is the current manufacturer of Cub Cadet now. Our Cub Cadet franchise was an already established business in our area which we are proud to continue. We have been excited about the great acceptance of out newest business this early in the season. Obviously there was a great need for high quality mowers, garden products, parts, and service. In our showroom you will see most of the products Cub Cadet has to offer and ready to be delivered.
Our business hours are Mon. 8-6, Tues. 8-5, Wed. 8-5, Thurs.8-5, Fri. 8-6, Sat. 8-4, after hours by appointment. Our professional staff consists of fifteen knowledgeable people ready to serve you. Their friendly service is what gives Slaight's it's continued growth and success.
